Comfortable bed

I had a pleasant stay at Oyo Hotel Deridder Hwy 171 North. The room was spacious and had been recently remodeled, offering a comfortable atmosphere for relaxation. Convenient amenities like a mini fridge and microwave in the room added to the experience. The bathroom was clean, and while the hotel was undergoing some exterior renovations, the indoor updates provided a fresh ambiance.

The exterior renovations left some areas looking uninviting.

Spike your taste buds with local finds like Two Sisters Pecan House, where pecans reign supreme. Plus, the cozy bed in the King Room made for a decent snooze, despite trying to ignore the dusty vibes.

The place feels like a time capsule from the 80s—missing toilet seats and that smokey smell hit you like a brick.

great access to parks and local attractions for weekend explorers

during my recent stay, I enjoyed walking just a few steps to visit the Gothic 'Hanging' Jail, which has a unique history, and I found myself close to the Beauregard Parish Museum, making it easy to dive into the local culture without having to travel far.

A cozy stay with quirks

Despite the rough edges, the bed was surprisingly comfy and made for restful nights. The staff were friendly, too, showing genuine warmth during my stay.

However, the overall cleanliness left much to be desired, with a noticeable smoke odor lingering even in non-smoking areas and some repairs needing attention.

I loved how comfy the Premium King Bed was, and the hot shower was just perfect after a long day. The relaxing pool area and cozy lounge made it easy to unwind. Just a heads up, the coffee in the lobby ran out a bit quickly, but overall it was a great stay! ☕️

Wi-Fi was decent, and I appreciated the free parking. Rooms need more furniture.

However, the hotel felt hastily remodeled, with obvious signs of poor workmanship, such as missing essentials like a flat-screen TV and the presence of an outdated tube model. The room itself lacked basic furniture for storage, and the overall aesthetic was hindered by unfinished renovations outside.

We enjoyed the nearby Walmart and a fantastic sushi spot just a short drive away. The room we had was spacious enough for my wife, our two grown kids, and me, making our stay comfortable for the whole family.

My kids wished for better bathroom cleanliness.
